Description:
A hollow brass sphere 9cm in diameter supported directly over a brass wick burner (also on a brass post). The sphere has a pipe outlet on top that bends down to end in a nozzle directly atop a small, black, shallow, guitar-shaped pan. The pan is closed by a metal cover that can open on its narrow end, directly under the nozzle coming from the sphere.

The brass sphere, burner and shallow pan are all held by brass posts attached to a rectangular wooden base.

The wick stand is badly corroded, and the pan's paint is chipped.

FunctionThis lamp produces a high-temperature flame by blowing the boiled contents in the brass sphere through a flame kindled on the shallow pan directly below the nozzle.
