Description:
This is a Leitz Abbe-type camera lucida. The large plane mirror is hinged to a metal bar that goes to a bracket. This bracket is attached to a clamping ring that goes around the eyepiece of a microscope. Above the clamping ring is a prism mounted on a swing-out mount. It has a wheel of neutral density filters below it. Two more filters are on a swing-away mount on the side near the exit window of the prism housing.

The case is made of wood and fitted for the camera lucida. It is lined with dark burgundy velvet and covered in orange leather.
