Inscribedpaper label: Liquid CO2
FunctionThis tube contains carbon dioxide in a liquid state, which is only possible at considerably high pressures (about 30-70 atm) at ambient temperature. It was probably used to demonstrate the phase transitions of carbon dioxide (liquid-solid and perhaps the critical point) by exposing it to different temperatures.
