A handle is used to put it in motion, while a lever is used to hold the cam in place. On one side there is a glass vessel on top of a funnel. Liquid was dripping down in a tube that was attached to the funnel. On the other side, a fixed plateau in which two vertical glass tubes once were (now broken). A glass jar or vessel of some sort most likely covered the plateau once. Under the plateau there is a stopcock.
