Description:
This is a Bausch & Lomb continental compound microscope, model BB. It in inclinable, has a brass arm and body, and a black horseshoe-shaped base. The main tube is brass and has a nickeled draw tube graduated in millimeters and sliding in a cloth sleeve. The coarse focus is by rack and pinion. The fine adjustment is by a graduated knob on top of the post.
The stage is rectangular and topped with vulcanite. Stage clips are nickel. The substage apparatus includes a cardiod condenser on a swing out mount adjustable in the vertical direction by a screw. The plano-concave mirror is on a swinging arm.
A revolving triple nospiece is made of nickel and signed by Bausch & Lomb. Two objectives and two eyepieces are included. One eyepiece is by E. Leitz.
A standing wooden case for storage accompanies this instrument. The case is marked "50" and "55" on its top in light scratches. The key is missing.
