Description:
A round shallow copper basin that would most likely have been filled with mercury with small cup on post in center. Binding posts have strips leading to the apparatus, one to the basin and one to the center. Left post marked B (probably for base or basin), right marked C (probably for center post or cup). The whole instrument is on a wood base with four legs.
Accompanying the instrument is a tapered wooden rod with brass ends. Connected at the center is a brass rod with a brass sphere on the end.
