FunctionThis is an early hand-held x-ray tube for intracavity therapy. The concave cathode helps to focus the electrons on the anticathode, which is made of platinum and is angled. The side tube on the left is used to hold the device and also replenish the optimal gas pressure with a charcoal regenerator (damaged). The other side tube is intended to be inserted into a cavity providing the path for the produced x-rays.
