Historical AttributesThis instrument was used by Dr. Simeon Burt Wolbach (M.D. 1903, Harvard). Wolbach was an Assistant Professor of Bacteriology, 1910-1914; Associate Professor of Bacteriology, 1914-1916; Associate Professor of Pathology and Bacteriology, 1916; pathologist to the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and the Boston Lying-In Hospital, 1917-1922; and Shattuck professor of pathology at Harvard, 1922-1947.
Dr. Wolbach used this warm chamber to study epidemic typhus on an expedition to Poland in 1920.
