Description:
A Weston milli-voltmeter, housed in a fan-shaped instrument case, mounted on a rectangular wooden base. The base has three binding posts, one marked "+" one marked,"AMP" and another marked, "10 MV."
The case has a fan-shaped instrument display window, through which the instrument scale can be seen, marked, "10-0-10," and the needle-shaped instrument indicator. Printed below the scale, "WESTON / DIRECT CURRENT / MILLI-VOLTMETER."
A plaque below the instrument scale reads, "WESTON ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENT CO. / NEWARK N.J. U.S.A. / PATENTED NOV. 6, 1888 / NO. 9172." Below the plaque is a circular glass display panel, through which the connection of the indicator to the coil can be seen.
The base of the metal case has a plaque with further patent information, a round metal plate with an adjustment screw, labeled "CORRECTION," a painted inscription of a triangle and a "+" label for a binding post on the top face of the instrument.
