The objective cell is screwed into a beveled collar with a flange in front of a concave surface. The collar is screwed to the brass tube. The focuser has a screw with a two rows of knurling.
The eyepiece that fits into the tube of the focuser has an outer diameter of 1 1/8 inch (2.9 cm). It has two parallel lines encircling it.
The strap that holds the focusing screw is blackened. So is the objective cell, the front end of the collar, and the top of the eyepiece. The rest is bright brass.
