Description:
A telephone receiver known as a "watchcase" style receiver, because of its compact shape. The device consists of a short cylindrical case, made of nickel-plated brass, topped by a hard-rubber screw-on receiver with a molded, bowl-shaped earpiece. The earpiece has a circular opening in the base of the bowl, through which a diaphragm may be seen.
A flat, circular, metal hanging ring is secured to the side of the case by a pair of screws. There are three screws securing the back of the case. The two ring support screws and two screws on the back of the case have rounded, slot-headed tops. The side of the case opposite the hanging ring has two circular openings, for electrical connectors.
There are no manufacturer markings on the receiver.
