Stack of long, thin paper wind recording charts. Red ink on thick yellowed paper. Two notches in the left side of the chart. The left side of the chart contains spaces in which to write the weather station where the wind was measured and the day of measurement. The chart contains two graphs, each of which is divided into rectangular boxes. The horizontal axis on each chart is labeled from 9am on one day to 10am on the next. Darker vertical lines mark each hour and half hour.
The vertical axes on each chart are different. The vertical axis of the top chart labels wind direction and is labeled from south to north with marks at each sixteenth of the compass rose. The vertical axis of the bottom chart measures the wind speed and is labeled 0 to 100 with marks at every ten miles per hour and gradations at every two.
The back of the set has a brown stain on it.

FunctionIt is possible these charts would be used on a recording instrument similar to the Friez Selsyn wind recorder, in which two styluses move across the paper in accordance with the changes in the wind. The chart would be installed and would be moved gradually by a clock mechanism. One stylus would trace across the top chart the changes in the wind's direction. The other would trace across the bottom chart the changes in the wind's speed.
