brass, iron, nickel,
Description:
A nickel-plated steel rod with a threaded base and brass flange currently holds two clamps. One is a blackened brass sleeve with a brass locking screw. Alongside the sleeve are two slender tubes. These may be for inserting slender wires or they may serve as supporting brackets for something that the experimenter doesn't want to slide down the rod.

The other clamp is unusual having a large brass ball through which the rod slides. The base of the ball a brass collar with a knurled locking screw. A hollow pipe extends off at right angles on one side of the ball, but does not connect to the interior of the ball in order to make contact with the rod. At 90 degrees to this pipe is another brass rod that supports a thick brass sleeve at right angles to it.
