Description:
Rectangular black metal case with ventilation gaps. Front panel consisting of a white, circular cathode ray tube screen, two discoidal dials, and a switch. On one side are two more dials, and four electrical connectors. Grey cord with 2 pronged plug.

Signedplate on top panel: NATIONAL / TYPE CRO NUMBER A / (NC logo) / CYCLES 50-60 VOLTS 105-120 / NATIONAL COMPANY INC. / MALDEN, MASS., U.S.A.
FunctionThe electron oscillograph, a name for early oscilloscopes, is an electronic device that is used to graphically observe an electric signal.

Oscilloscopes and oscillographs are most often used to detect the exact wave pattern of a periodic electric signal.
