Description:
A copper tube has two square, 0.7-cm thick, glass-plate covers, which appear to be sealed to the tube with wax. A brass strap goes over each glass plate, and is secured to the other strap by means of two long brass bolts and 4 nuts. A prism of rock salt is sealed inside.
