Blue and white china commemorative plate, marking the 1st wireless message from President Roosevelt to King Edward VII on January 19th, 1903. The message was sent from the Marconi Radio Station in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
The wireless telegraphy machine was invented by Marchese Guglielmo Marconi, and he shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with Karl Ferdinand Braun in 1909. The first transatlantic radio signal was actually sent in 1901, but this event marked the first message sent across the Atlantic.
