J.E. Buerk
1861 - 1920s
Company established by the German immigrant Jakob E. Buerk in Boston, to commercialize the "drum" clock made by his brother Johannes in Schwenningen, Württenberg. Over the years, Jakob introduced and patented several alterations and modifications, at times switching providers in Germany. As a result, by the end of the century several companies offered very similar clocks to Buerk's.
