Foote Mineral Company
circa 1870 - 1993
Albert Edward Foote was a prominent mineral collector and dealer in the United States in the late 19th Century. By the time of his death in 1895, he had one of the largest and most successful mineral dealerships in history, boasting "the largest stock of minerals in the world.". His son Warren took over his business, renaming it the Foote Mineral Company in 1900. Over the next decade, the company shifted its emphasis from collectors' minerals to a bulk supplier of industrial minerals.
In 1993, the Cyprus Minerals Company acquired Foote Mineral Company. The new company became known as Cyprus Foote Mineral Company.
