Museum Boerhaave
The Rijksmuseum voor de Geschiedenis der Natuurwetenschappen now Museum Boerhaave, is the Dutch National Museum for the History of Science and Medicine.
The museum was founded in Leiden in 1928 by physicist Claude August Crommelin and zooligist Cornelis Jakob van der Kaauw. The two scientists intended the museum as a repository for the scientific instruments held by Leiden University. The museum became a national museum in 1947, and changed its name to Museum Boerhaave in 1976.
