The Museum of Science and Industry provides the following information "G. Coussons, Ltd. was founded by George Cussons in 1876 to make apparatus for use in teaching mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, art and machine drawing. His son, George Wilfred, took over the company in 1923 and increased the range of apparatus it made. The firm was taken over by Ricardo Consulting Engineers in 1964 and was still in business in 2001."
