Edward Nairne

Edward Nairne was a maker of fine optical, mathematical, and philosophical instruments in London. He was apprenticed to Matthew Loft in 1741/2 and took over Loft's business in about 1749. His own apprentices included Thomas Blunt (I) with whom he went into a partnership in 1774. He employed Jesse Ramsden.
