Marc Timothée Stauffer Jeune

Swiss watchmaker, Marc Timothée Stauffer was born on January 21, 1874 in Les Ponts-de-Martel, Neuchâtel. He was the son of watchmaker Henri Timothée Stauffer (1849-1905) and Laure Lucile Rossel. Marc Timothée was the grandson of notable watchmaker Henry Onesime Stauffer and the brother of Albert Etienne Stauffer.
Stauffer took over the company from his father, but in 1904 he also registered his own company M.T. Stauffer Jeune (the younger) with the Chamber of Commerce. The PONTIF watch brand was introduced in 1911 and the PONTIFA brand in 1925.
Stauffer died in 1950, and his business was taken over by his nephew Marc Leuthold.
