Sanders Associates, Inc.

Sanders Associates was a defense contractor founded in 1951 by Royden C. Sanders, Jr. and a group of engineers and scientists from Raytheon. The company was located in Waltham, Massachusetts. In 1952 Sanders Associates moved to Nashua, New Hampshire, where they continuted to develop and manufacture electronic surveillance and intelligence systems for military and commercial applications.
In 1986, Lockheed Corporation bought Sanders Associates and it became Sanders, A Lockheed Company. In 1995 Sanders was merged into Lockheed Martin Aerospace Electronic Systems.
In 2000 Lockheed sold the division and it became BAE Systems Information & Electronic Warfare Systems (IEWS). In 2005 they became BAE Systems Electronics & Integrated Solutions.
An early member of Sanders Associates was Ralph Baer, who is considered to have invented the first videogame console. Baer's early prototypes are in the Smithsonian.
