Tiberius Cavallo
1749-1809
Born in Naples, Italy, in 1749, Tiberius Cavallo moved to England in 1771 to work as a merchant. He soon became interested in science, and went on to design improvements to several scientific instruments.
Cavallo became a Fellow of the Royal society in 1779. He may have invented Cavallo's multiplier, an instrument that amplifies electric charges to make them measurable with an electroscope.
Cavallo died in 1809.
